Umbria-Marche 1997 landslide map

Description

The Umbria-Marche1997 landslide data set is a polygon map in shapefile format containing the set of landslides induced by the two mainshocks of the Umbria-Marche earthquake sequence (Mw 5.7 on 26 October 1997 at 00:33:11 GMT and Mw 6.0 on 26 October 1997 at 9:40:24 GMT).
During the sequence, the landslides were mapped after a field survey, where possible, or identified from aerial photographs (flight carried out the day after the mainshock occurrence) at the equivalent scale of 1:10,000. The 311 landslides have been classified according to their prevailing movement.
The dataset is distributed as a .zip file containing the shapefile Frane1997.shp and associated files. Figure 1 shows the landslide distribution in the northern (Topino river valley) and southern zones (Nera river valley).
The attribute table contains the field “Tipo” identifying the type of landslide movement ( cr = rotational slide; sct = translational slide; sc = generic landslide; crl = rock fall).
The cartographic projection is UTMED50 Zone 33N (epsg 23033).
