SISMI_dataset.zip: passive (single-station and ambient-vibration array measurements) and active (multichannel analyses of surface waves) seismic data acquired in the Milan metropolitan area.The archive SISMI_dataset (file in zip format) contains:
- single-station ambient-noise measurements at 33 sites distributed around the Milan metropolitan area;
- microtremor array measurements at 3 sites, in the northern (North public park), central (Giurati sport center), and southern (Vettabbia park) sectors of the Milan metropolitan area. At the Giuriati sports center, two microtremor arrays were carried out, whereas at both North and Vettabbia public parks one microtremor array was set up;
- Multichannel Analyses of Surface Waves (MASW) at 2 sites (North public park and Vettabbia park). In both sites, 2 MASW were executed with a linear array, varying the inter geophonic distance.
The passive seismic data are provided in SAC format, along with the location of the corresponding measuring points in WGS84 coordinate system. The active seismic data, acquired with the software Geometrics Seismodule Controller, are provided in .dat (binary) format.
The single-station noise measurements are performed using a 6-channel Reftek- 130 24-bits datalogger (https://reftek.com/), coupled with two Lennartz 5s seismometers (https://www.lennartz.de/en/), with sampling frequency of 100 Hz. Each measurement has a duration spanning from at least 30 minutes to about 1 hour.
The microtremor array measurements are performed using Lennartz-5s high-sensitivity (400 V/m/s) velocimeters, coupled with a 24-bit Reftek 130 three-channel digitizer. The sampling frequency is set at 100 Hz, with a recording period for each array of 3 hours.
The Multichannel Analyses of Surface Waves (MASW) are performed using 24 vertical geophones with eigen natural frequency of 4.5 Hz and a vertical impact source (6.8 kg hammer). The inter geophonic distance is varied from 2.5 to 5 m (total length of 60 and 120 m respectively), using a minimum offset moving from 5 to 10 m. For each shot, a sampling frequency of 2000 Hz and a time of acquisition of 2 s are chosen.
